The National Museum of Korea recorded the highest number of visitors ever in the first half of this year, with 3.79 million people, a 39.7% increase from last year. This is attributed to the K-culture boom and the successful exhibition of various special exhibitions, such as 'Our Table' and 'Amazing Thailand: Exhibition of Thai Art Treasures'. With the average daily number of visitors exceeding 17,000, concerns are also being raised about the capacity of the facilities. The museum is taking measures such as extending visiting hours by one hour during the summer peak season, and long-term solutions such as expanding exhibition halls are under discussion.
