Former Prosecutor General Sim Woo-jung and former Senior Deputy Chief Prosecutor Jeon Moo-gon of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office have been requested for arrest warrants on charges of engaging in important duties during a rebellion and abuse of authority. Former Prosecutor General Sim is accused of considering dispatching prosecutors from the Military Justice Division upon instructions from former Minister of Justice Park Sung-jae on the day of the declaration of martial law, and participating in the drafting of documents related to trial jurisdiction under emergency martial law. He is also facing charges of abuse of authority regarding the abandonment of an appeal for the release of former President Yoon Seok-yeol. The special prosecution team believes that these individuals participated in or supported the unconstitutional and illegal declaration of martial law, leading to the application of charges against them. The review of arrest warrants for the two is scheduled for the 16th.
