Former President Yoon Seok-yeol was indicted on charges of receiving free opinion polls from political broker Myung Tae-kyun. The special prosecutor argued that former President Yoon promised Myung the nomination of Kim Young-sun, a former lawmaker of the People Power Party, in exchange for the opinion polls. However, former President Yoon's side denies this. Myung Tae-kyun was accused of illegally donating political funds by providing free opinion polls. Former President Yoon's wife, Kim Kun-hee, was acquitted in both the first and second trials.
