Samsung Electronics unveiled four new Odyssey gaming monitors featuring world-first technologies at Gamescom 2026, the world's largest gaming event held in Cologne, Germany on August 26 (local time).
The company held a launch event titled "#PlaySamsung: The Next Era of Gaming Displays" at its booth on August 27 at 10:30 am (local time) to showcase the new products.

World-First Technologies for a Next-Generation Odyssey Lineup

The newly unveiled "Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SJ)" is a 49-inch curved gaming monitor that boasts the world's first 360Hz refresh rate. It features a fifth-generation 'QD-OLED Penta Tandem™' panel, a 0.03ms (GtG) response time, dual high refresh rate mode (dual QHD·360Hz, dual HD·720Hz), and a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits, delivering an overwhelming gaming immersion.
The "Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SJ)" supports 'Triple Mode,' allowing users to choose from three resolutions and refresh rates depending on the game genre. It features the same fifth-generation 'QD-OLED Penta Tandem' panel and a fast 0.03ms response time as the Odyssey OLED G9. It offers 4K resolution and a 360Hz refresh rate by default, and users can seamlessly switch to high refresh rate modes (QHD·520Hz, FHD·680Hz).
In particular, it supports DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR 20) with a maximum bandwidth of 80Gbps, enabling stable and lossless transmission of high-quality, ultra-high refresh rate video.
The "Odyssey OLED G7 (G75SJ)," the world's first 42-inch OLED gaming monitor, boasts a display area approximately 72% larger than its predecessor (32 inches), providing an even more immersive viewing experience. It features a 16:9 aspect ratio 1000R curved screen and a 0.03ms (GtG) response time. The 4K OLED panel incorporates 'HDR10+ Gaming' technology for optimal picture quality.
The "Odyssey G6 (G60H)" is a 27-inch monitor with QHD (2,560×1,440) resolution and a 600Hz refresh rate. Notably, it supports 'Dual Mode,' enabling a world-first 1,100Hz refresh rate (HD resolution) when switched to ultra-high refresh rate mode. This allows for optimized gameplay tailored to different game genres. It also features a Fast IPS panel that ensures uniform color reproduction even in fast-paced game scenes and a 1ms response time, making it ideal for FPS games.
All four new models will support NVIDIA 'G-SYNC™ Compatible' and AMD 'FreeSync™ Premium Pro,' ensuring smooth gameplay without screen tearing or stuttering even in dynamic gaming situations.

Expanding Glasses-Free 3D Technology and Next-Generation Picture Quality 'HDR10+ Gaming' Partnerships
