They say he's tested hundreds of times and tested daily during the tour, but is he really a rookie with that overwhelming performance? hehe
UCI/ITA Doping Testing Status
Yes, UCI conducts thorough doping tests through ITA. Especially strict with top rider Pogačar.
• During Grand Tour (Tour de France, etc.) periods: Leaders (yellow jersey) or stage winners are tested daily. Hundreds of in-competition tests are conducted during Tour periods only (approximately 600 planned as of 2026 Tour).
• Out-of-competition: Random/targeted tests year-round. Top riders undergo blood and urine tests multiple times during the season, and long-term blood markers (red blood cells, etc.) are monitored through the **Athlete Biological Passport (ABP)**. Additional investigation if changes are suspected.
• In Pogačar's case, there have been instances where he was tested multiple times in a day during Tour, and the UCI president has publicly stated that "both drug tests and bike X-ray were clean."
