I am a participant in the Jeosureong Gran Fondo taking place on April 18, 2026. Since I live in the nearby area, I did a course reconnaissance ride at the start of the season (March 29) by going around Jeosureong, and it looked so dangerous that I'm writing this post. After passing the second aid station at the abandoned rest stop at the top of Jeosureong, it's a winding downhill road heading toward Yecheon. The problem is that this winding downhill road is covered with sand that was spread for snow removal work last winter. I was so tense coming down, worried about sliding out, gripping the brakes the whole way, that by the time I reached the bottom my neck and hands were trembling. The safety barriers on the edge of the road are the old type and only about 50cm high… if you slide and go over those barriers, it's a straight drop off a cliff. This isn't just a safety concern — people could die. Anyone involved must absolutely take action, and I also hope all participants keep this in mind and make sure to ride safely. I'm sure the organizers are aware and will take action, but I'm sharing this out of concern, hoping that all club members will ride safely.

=> The person in charge replied:
'We are the event organizers. This is something the organizers are already aware of, having conducted several course reconnaissance trips. We plan to mobilize equipment before the event to clean it up thoroughly so that participants can ride safely. Thank you.'

That was their reply.

The section above and the Beoljae downhill section are areas where accidents are always frequent. Please everyone ride safely!!!
