I'm curious about that thing...
I went to a random place with 850 once, but the battery ran out, so I was dissatisfied.
I'll write a review of the Bryton and Wahoo Elemnt Bolt after using them.

First of all, I used Garmin 1030 Plus and 1040 very satisfactorily.
It was simple and intuitive, and the screen visibility was amazing.
Then, a new speedometer caught my eye, so I switched to Garmin 850.
This is the first time since Garmin 510, but compared to Wahoo, the settings were very complicated and
The screen layout and font were unfamiliar because I was used to Wahoo, so I felt dissatisfied.
So, even though I switched to 850, I ended up using the MyGarmin paid subscription for the screen...
There are a lot of minor bugs here and there,
but the biggest problem is the short battery life, which is unsatisfactory.
While considering switching devices, Bryton and Bryton Aero, which are popular these days, caught my eye, so I bought Bryton.

I heard that the screen of Bryton was dark, but
as soon as I received it, opened the package, and turned it on, I felt it intuitively.
Ah... this isn't it...
If I hadn't used 850, I wouldn't have known...
Or if I hadn't used 1030 Plus, I wouldn't have known. The screen is too...
dark and the resolution is low.
Still, as long as the battery lasts a long time, right? ... After setting it up for about 30 minutes and
putting in the map,
I put in waypoints with RidingGo, but it didn't recognize them.
This isn't right...
Even when I go on familiar roads, I usually ride with the map on, so this is unacceptable for me.
Besides, the more I look at it, the more different the screen looks.
So after touching it for 30 minutes, I immediately returned it.

Since I also liked 1030 Plus and 1040, I thought about getting rid of either the 850 or the 1040, so I bought the Elemnt Bolt as well.
But this one has a different screen layout than the 1040.
Moreover, the way the screen is displayed is different, and the colors are more diverse. It seems like there have been various function updates.
The intuitive interface and visibility of the 1040 are gone.

Comparing the screens, the brightness and sharpness of the 850 are still unmatched.
If you look at it under sunlight, wouldn't the Bolt be easier to see?
Garmin needs to turn on the backlight and increase the brightness (like a smartphone)
The Bolt is easy to see even under sunlight without the backlight.
However, if I go from sunlight to shade,
Garmin always has the backlight on, so it's easy to see in the shade as well.
But when I go into the shade, the Bolt becomes invisible.
The backlight turns on automatically, but
the maximum brightness is only 30% of Garmin's. In the shade, the visibility is so poor that it's almost impossible to see.
Of course, it will be visible when you pass through a tunnel in broad daylight or in a completely dark place...but still, it's unsatisfactory.
Thinking about it again,
if I set the brightness of Garmin 850 to about 30%, similar to the Bolt, and fix it, I think the short battery life can be compensated for to some extent.
So I immediately returned the Bolt as well...

The price I paid for my curiosity was a waste of money,
In the end, I concluded that Garmin 850 is the best choice for me.

It might be strange to write this after putting the Bolt up for sale, but
Still, I think Garmin 850 is the right choice for me.
(But the price seems crazy)

Conclusion
1. First-time speedometer purchase or switching from an older Garmin model
-> Bryton or Bolt are good choices
2. Switching from 1030 Plus to Bolt
-> High probability of dissatisfaction
3. Currently using a Garmin 50 series and switching
-> High probability of dissatisfaction with both
4. Looking for value for money
-> Bryton is sufficient
