ㅇ The Ministry of Overseas Koreans is implementing the titled project to strengthen partnerships between overseas diplomatic missions and Korean diaspora communities and to support the promotion of rights and interests of overseas Koreans and strengthen connections with the motherland. The titled project is currently being implemented. Customized local projects through collaboration between overseas diplomatic missions and Korean diaspora communitiesaims to contribute to resolving difficulties and advancing Korean diaspora communities.
o Business Promotion Direction
-In accordance with the Overseas Koreans Act and other related laws, reflecting the basic direction of overseas Korean policy △the settlement and status improvement of overseas Koreans in their countries of residence, △identity cultivation and strengthening bonds with the motherland for overseas Koreans, △enhancement of capabilities of overseas Koreans, △priority support for issues and matters of interest of Korean diaspora communities by region and other topics
o Examples of Projects (Common Matters)
- (Issues and Matters of Interest in Korean Diaspora Communities) △ Activities to protect the rights and interests of Korean diaspora communities according to changes in immigration laws and administrative procedures of the country of residence, △preventive seminars and guidelines to strengthen safety in Korean diaspora communities, △projects supporting stable local settlement and community integration of vulnerable and marginalized Korean diaspora groups, etc.
- (Settlement and Status Improvement) △briefing sessions and counseling programs by field (medical, legal, administrative, accounting, etc.) to support local settlement, △meetings with officials from the host country's police and immigration authorities* , △lectures by Koreans who have entered the mainstream society of the host country (exemplary settlement cases), etc.
* For meetings with officials from the host country's police and immigration authorities, the focus should be on building networks between host country authorities and Korean organizations, which should be differentiated from general Ministry of Foreign Affairs overseas nationals protection activities (safety briefings, disaster evacuation drills, disaster supply stockpiling, etc.)
- (Identity Cultivation and Strengthening Bonds) △lectures on Korean diaspora communities and the history of the Republic of Korea to strengthen Korean identity, △exchange events between children of multicultural families and Korean youth, △seminars with information on visits to the motherland for adoptive Korean families (including genetic testing programs), △discovery and education of contribution activities for the development of the motherland by overseas Koreans, etc.
- (Enhancement of Capabilities of Overseas Koreans) △mentoring programs for next-generation Korean diaspora, △briefing sessions on successful local employment cases for next-generation Korean diaspora, etc.

o Precautions
- Cultural and arts events (performances, competitions, quiz contests, etc.) and economic events (business forums, support activities for Korean companies' advancement, etc.) that overlap with public diplomacy and economic diplomacy projects supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to diplomatic missions cannot be supported. ※Point raised by the National Assembly
- Projects that are effective in achieving the goals of overseas Korean policy will be prioritized for support, while simple one-time events and events for social bonding cannot be supported
- Unlike other Ministry of Overseas Koreans projects, this project is not a project that provides grants to Korean diaspora organizations, but rather a project conducted by overseas diplomatic missions taking the lead and collaborating with Korean diaspora communities, and the mission will handle accounting and result reporting directly
- The required budget amount and calculation basis must be written in detail (vague and abstract budget proposals will be excluded from review)
- Expenses that are not essential to the implementation of the project, such as costs for producing event souvenirs, cannot be supported due to limited budget constraints
