The work on our long-awaited Webtoon Comic Font Generator is nearing completion. This project goes beyond simple text placement, focusing on maximizing the dynamism of comic panels and enhancing the convenience for creators.

1. '3D Variable Skeleton (Bone)' Based Font Engine, Not Outlines
The biggest technological feature of this font generator is its departure from rigid outline-based tools and adoption of a 3D Variable Skeleton (Bone) structure.
We've optimized stroke-based font technology, initially conceived for video, to allow for parametric control over thickness and style. This enables creators to achieve dynamic shapes and depth reminiscent of hand-drawn lettering, going beyond simply typing fonts.
2. Perfect Reflection of Comic Panel Perspective with 3D Space Control
The biggest drawback when using regular fonts for sound effects in webtoon work was the lack of 'perspective'. Comics often incorporate focus lines and bold perspectives, making flat text appear out of place.
This generator allows you to position letters within a 3D space based on the comic panel's perspective. You can achieve effects where fonts pop out from the screen depth or naturally curve along focus lines. Additionally, once you set the 3D perspective and color style, you can reuse it multiple times for increased workflow efficiency.
3. Unicode Support for Breaking Language Barriers
Considering the global webtoon market, we designed this generator to support fonts from all over the world, including Korean and Japanese, according to the Unicode table. This makes multilingual sound effect work significantly smoother.
4. Immediate Use in Clip Studio and Various File Generation (.png, .svg, .ttf)
Maintaining a seamless workflow is crucial. The generated comic fonts and sound effects are compatible with Clip Studio Paint for immediate use.
Supported formats include PNG (preserving transparency), SVG (lossless vector), and TTF (installable font).
Future Plans (Final Touches)
We are currently working on adding comic-style effect details, such as halftone dots around the font. The functionality to register fonts as vectors will also be finalized soon.
We anticipate that this development will revolutionize how text and sound effects are handled in webtoon and comic creation.
