Hello! My name is Jarin, and I've been riding road bikes for about three months.
When I was young, I only rode a bike to and from school, but after becoming an adult, I rarely rode it. Then, in my late twenties, I became obsessed with road bikes and bought one. Now, I ride consistently once a week, about 30~50km each time.
However, since last month, my right knee has been hurting terribly after riding for about an hour. I looked it up on YouTube and found that it could be due to the saddle height or incorrect posture, so I adjusted the saddle height and tried various things, but there was no significant difference.
Eventually, I went to the hospital and had X-rays and ultrasounds, and they said I had a lot of muscle inflammation…ㅠ So I rested from cycling for a while and received physical therapy.
I went back to the hospital yesterday, and thankfully, the inflammation has subsided a lot, and I heard that I can start riding again gradually next week without overdoing it.
However, I'm worried about having the same problem again, so I'm considering getting a bike fitting this time. There are various types of fittings available, according to my research.
* Basic Fitting (around 100,000 won)
* 3D Motion Fitting (about 300,000~400,000 won)
If I plan to ride my bike for a long time, would it be better to get a 3D motion fitting from the beginning? Or is a basic fitting sufficient for knee pain and posture correction?
I'd like to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience or received a fitting.
Thank you for reading my long post!
