I went all the way up with a Micom.28T without removing anything.
Except for stopping to tighten the handlebars when they bent, I rode straight through without stopping.
My knees don't hurt at all. There was no pain.
Although it was a slow speed of 50 minutes, with 170
I felt knee damage when going north and south.
