[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Yoon Hyun-seong = Samsung Electronics announced on the 30th that key functions of Samsung Health, built into the Galaxy Watch8 series and other wearable devices, have been registered as the first-ever certified "Digital Medical/Health Support Device" by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). The three Samsung Health functions registered as the MFDS's first digital/health support device are heart rate, blood oxygen, and step count measurement.
Following the "Digital Medical Devices Act" that took effect last January, the MFDS introduced a self-declaration and performance certification system for digital medical/health support devices starting this January.
