Following reports of localized fires suspected to be caused by battery overheating in the 'humidifier' given away as a gift through the 2025 Winter e-frequency program from October 30th to December 31st, 2025, we will be conducting a voluntary recall of two types of humidifiers starting at 2 PM on Monday, February 2nd, prioritizing customer safety.
All customers who have the humidifier in question are advised to immediately discontinue its use.
We encourage you to participate in the humidifier recall by applying for free parcel pickup starting at 2 PM on Monday, February 2nd. Further information on in-store return methods will be provided. Instructions for applying for free parcel pickup will be available through the Starbucks mobile app or website starting at 2 PM on Monday, February 2nd.
The promotional item used batteries certified by KC according to the "Electric Appliances and Household Goods Safety Management Act". Starbucks is working with Hanil Electric, the supplier of this product, and relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident. Separately from the investigation, we have decided to take preemptive recall measures for customer safety.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this incident. As a token of apology for participating in the humidifier recall, we will be providing a 30,000 won Starbucks mobile card online to all eligible customers.
Starbucks Rewards members will receive their credits through the mobile app, while web members who have not registered a Starbucks mobile card will receive it via MMS.
