Overseas tour package related (not a question!!)

67
Before Covid I used to go on short-haul overseas tours pretty often,
then Covid hit right around when I got married.
and once it ended I went into parental leave and so on,
and this June we ended up going to Okinawa for a 9-day family trip. My "Pope" (wife) graciously decreed that even though she's never ridden a bike in Okinawa before, it looked like a great place to ride, and asked if I wanted to bring one—so I got back into cycling a month ago

The problem is I just built a disc-brake bike this time, and bike packing turned out to be an issue
With my old rim-brake bike I used a Bike Box 2, but with disc brakes and an integrated handlebar it's not easy to remove the bars
So when the mechanic assembled it, I asked him to set the hydraulic hose length so it just barely reaches the end of the steerer, as long as that doesn't cause any issues while riding

Built it that way, rode it every weekend, and checked the riding condition, and it felt like there was no issue, or at least it seemed that way
And I just tried it out to see if there'd be a problem when actually packing it, and the result was good (I assembled and disassembled it twice, and rode it briefly each time)

Just like with my old rim-brake bike, partially disassembling and reassembling it caused zero functional issues or rattling noises
Since there are probably others like me thinking about overseas tours, and photos or write-ups on this are hard to find, I'm posting this in case it's useful as a reference

The bike is a BMC, size 51
