KTX Reservation
● Seat View > VR Location Check Required
● General Class is 15AB (Mountain, SRT check separately, door opening direction is blocked so AB, Special Class has a car with a shelf for placing things and the backrest cannot be flipped over, which may inconvenience the person next to you. If you see a golf bag, get on before that person. When it's almost full, it can be difficult to store carriers.)
● Seoul departures are convenient from the platform with the substitute stone floor in Gwangmyeong and the short access road to the parking lot. For other stations, work from above as much as possible and then go down.
● There have often been cases of KTX bicycles being prohibited, but I have experienced three round trips and have not yet been prohibited. Once, I even received guidance (If you are prohibited, you will have to be careful with the rear wheel and the rear derailleur).
Preparation
● Lightweight carrying bag - packs as thinly as possible and minimizes volume (search for Rakub××, Muravel, etc. If you buy something else, it will be inconvenient on the KTX. Daiso rain cover is not reusable and may not be in stock at your destination.)
● Usually comes with 2 straps, but experience suggests 3 are needed, so I recommend buying one more.
Packing Method
● On the drive side, attach the wheel to the disc direction in the frame direction. Make sure the front derailleur doesn't press down and cover it over the crank arm. Push it well into the space between the handlebar drop and the spokes (this is considered optimal for protecting the drivetrain and disc pads).
● Check the detailed Velcro position photo.
● When tying the bag, a brake stopper is essential because you have to press the lever.
● The round part of the bag should face the rear wheel direction, otherwise it won't fit.
