The Week of Italian Cuisine in the World returned to Jakarta for its milestone 10th edition, honoring Italy’s rich food heritage and its global influence on food culture. Launched in 2016 as a legacy of Expo Milan 2015, the initiative highlights authentic Italian products, sustainable gastronomy, and the Mediterranean diet as a model of health and balance.

This year, carrying the theme “Italian Cooking: Culture, Health, and Innovation,” the Embassy of Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute, and the Italian Trade Agency, in collaboration with Casa Artusi and MODENA Culinaria, presented a curated program of culinary activities including cooking classes, demonstrations, film screenings, and discussions.

The event brought together culinary experts such as Chef Matteo Milandri of Casa Artusi and cultural gastronome Mattia Fiandaca, who shared insights on tradition, storytelling, and the evolving identity of Italian cuisine.

“Italian cuisine is rooted in shared experiences and diversity, connecting producers, consumers, and communities through tradition and craftsmanship. Like the marketplace, it brings people together around one table, united by stories, ingredients, and cultural exchange,” said Mattia Fiandaca.

The four-day celebration also featured a Pop-up Italian Food Bazaar, connecting guests with premium Italian products and local distributors in Jakarta.

Since its inception, the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World has promoted Made in Italy excellence worldwide, highlighting Italian cuisine as a model of balance, sustainability, and cultural expression. The 2025 edition reinforces Italy and Indonesia’s commitment to education, cultural diplomacy, and culinary collaboration.
