Two days after buying the Fuoco, I posted a rant about it here
Since then, with tuning and upgrades, it's become much better
With light pedaling, I was able to ride many distances daily
Separately, about 2 weeks after purchase, I heard chain skipping sounds
Couldn't fix it even with barrel adjustment, and for a few weeks until last Sunday
I was puzzled about the cause of the ticking, but it turned out
The rim was very bent, so it was wobbling as it spun
Monday I went to the main office and had the rim trued
The ticking sound was gone
Carbon wheels don't easily bend, so it's strange
That spoke tension loosened and bent it like this - there's definitely an issue
Just then I got word the wheel set arrived and rode to the shop
It went so well. Thought it was my mood? Or a tailwind?
The next day after installing the Aeon wheel set, hmm...(previous post)
After installing the Decaf wheels again to show my stamina was fine
I climbed Namsan, but it felt different from Monday
I touched the tire and it felt squishy - there was no air
I skipped Sabuk and went home and pumped up the pressure
What the shop had put in was 60psi
But the minimum air pressure for Ohlins is 95
Today I'm heading to Sammaksa and Manghaeam
With proper air pressure, the feeling when I rode to get the wheel set on Monday
is what I'm experiencing now
Even before adjusting rim tension, I had made the pedaling decent
Once the wobble is fixed, power and energy loss decrease
It goes annoyingly (paradoxically) well
Why couldn't they make it pedal like this from the start?
For context, I previously used a Token BB and carbon wheel set around 1.5 million won
and learned what reasonably snappy pedaling felt like
Since I knew this is what could compensate for my lacking stamina
Right after buying it, I worked on making the heavy pedaling lighter
That's what I was trying to do
With pedaling I liked so much, climbing Sammaksa
I tried to set a PR but the disadvantage of the heavy wheel set
showed up on steep grades, worried I'd fall behind, took a brief rest
Caught my breath and climbed slowly
For now, flat sections and light uphills feel incredible
If only the light wheels issue were resolved~
