Tuesday evening.. finished an intense ride happily thinking about chicken and soju to eat at home
Entering the neighborhood
Was crossing an X-shaped crosswalk in recovery mode after pushing myself, when a bicycle suddenly entered from the right, collided with my side and I fell
Unfortunately fell to the right causing lever derailleur scraping, bent lever, scratched goggles, abrasions in 3 places on my legs, front light mount broken..
At least it was very low speed so I didn't roll and my clothes didn't tear.. (I momentarily thought it was fortunate I wore cheap bib shorts today)
Came to my senses and asked the other person - they were a college student.. their bicycle handlebar was bent. No injuries to their body..
They kept apologizing so my heart softened again.. seeing them wear a helmet made them seem like a sincere young person..
Exchanged numbers and went home to ask my parents if they had insurance, saying if they did we could handle it through insurance.. if not we'd discuss it then and sent them off..
Got a text the next day saying they don't have insurance..ㅠ
Just sent a message saying I'll take care of it myself so study hard.. I ended up sending it that way..
Accidents really are best avoided.
Though it doesn't prevent accidents just from me being careful..
Everyone please be careful and definitely get insurance. I'm sure you all have it if you're a cyclist, but..
