As the global artificial intelligence (AI) craze spreads beyond the memory market to the graphics card (GPU) market, domestic and international manufacturers and distributors are facing serious management pressure.
On the 27th, according to the industry, ZOTAC Korea, the Korean subsidiary of graphics card manufacturer ZOTAC, announced through its official shopping mall notice: "The situation is so serious that we need to worry about the very existence of manufacturers and distributors," and "due to outrageous supply price increases, not only the RTX 5090 but also the budget-friendly RTX 5060 lineup has experienced price increases beyond imagination."
This situation is worsening as NVIDIA and AMD have officially announced reduced GPU supply volumes citing insufficient memory supply and demand.
The industry expects full-fledged price increases for graphics cards to begin starting next week. According to rumors spreading in online communities, the RTX 5060 8GB is expected to sell for approximately 750,000 won, the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB for 900,000 won, the RTX 5070 12GB for 1.3 million won, the RTX 5070 Ti 16GB for 1.8 million won, and the RTX 5080 16GB for 2.2 million won or more.
