Elon Musk, Tesla's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), announced on the 28th (local time) that the company will halt production of the Model S and Model X, its flagship electric vehicle models.
During the fourth quarter earnings announcement conference call on that day, CEO Musk stated, "Now is the time to honorably conclude the Model S and X program," and added, "If you are interested in purchasing a Model S or X, now is the time to place an order."
CEO Musk announced that the company will stop production of the two models and use the Fremont, California factory for manufacturing Optimus humanoid robots.
