Iran confirmed that nuclear negotiations with the United States will be held as scheduled on the 6th.

Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, said on the 4th (local time) via X (formerly Twitter) that "nuclear negotiations with the United States are scheduled to be held in Muscat, Oman on Friday (6th) at 10 a.m." and thanked Oman for providing the venue.

Minister Araghchi's statement came shortly after the U.S. media outlet Axios reported that the United States would not accept Iran's request to change the venue and format of talks.

Initially, the two countries discussed holding talks in Istanbul, Turkey with officials from regional Middle Eastern countries observing, but Iran later requested to change the venue to Muscat, Oman.

It is also reported that Iran requested that the negotiations focus only on its own nuclear program and that ballistic missile development issues be excluded from the agenda.

U.S. President Donald Trump presented three conditions as prerequisites for resuming negotiations with Iran: ▲zero uranium enrichment within Iran ▲limitation of ballistic missile programs ▲cessation of support for regional proxy forces.

It is also known that Iran prefers to hold purely bilateral talks with the United States.
