Kurly has thrown down a gauntlet to Coupang's Rocket Delivery by introducing a same-day night delivery service in addition to its existing early morning 'Starlight Delivery'. Competition centered on delivery speed appears to intensify further.
Kurly announced on the 9th that it has launched 'Midnight Starlight Delivery', which allows customers to receive products before midnight on the order date.
Accordingly, Kurly is establishing a 'twice-daily delivery system' where orders placed from 11 PM to 3 PM are delivered before midnight, and products ordered after 3 PM until 11 PM are delivered by 7 AM the next morning (8 AM in some areas). Midnight Starlight Delivery is available in most areas of the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province.
Delivery begins at 9 PM, and all products are packed with refrigeration or freezing to maintain freshness until the next morning.
Customers can check whether Midnight or Early Morning Starlight Delivery is available at the order stage, and a system to check the availability of Midnight Starlight Delivery based on their residence will open by the end of this month.
The same Midnight Starlight Delivery service is provided to customers of Kurly N-Mart, a shopping service introduced through a collaboration between Kurly and Naver. The delivery area is also the same, covering most areas of the Seoul metropolitan area. Kurly N-Mart is a shopping service opened in September of last year through a collaboration between Kurly and Naver.
