The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics announced on the 11th (local time) that U.S. non-farm jobs increased by 130,000 in January compared to the previous month.
The increase was significantly larger compared to December last year (48,000), and it far exceeded the forecast compiled by Dow Jones (55,000).
The unemployment rate fell to 4.3% compared to a month earlier (4.4%), and it fell short of expert expectations (4.4%).
