I've been road cycling for just over half a year now.
About a week after I started, I did the Tongyeong Gran Fondo and completed it without any problems. At that time, I didn't have any calf cramps or anything like that, but recently I went to the Muju Gran Fondo, and because I was thinking that I wasn't handling the descents well, I forced myself to ride hard during the uphills (taking about 3-minute breaks during the middle of the uphills) while experiencing cramps coming and going.
I finished the race well, but now the muscles in the upper part of my right calf are very tight. I'm planning to do the Seorak Gran Fondo in 5 days, so could you please tell me some ways to relieve the tightness? T_T I really want to participate, but would it be too much...? I've consistently ridden 700-1000km every month. Is it because of all the uphills...?(When I tense my calf, cramps happen too!)
