No matter how you look at it, Netanyahu's burning of Iran's oil reserves appears to be a message saying "Iran, hurry up and attack your oil facilities too."
Netanyahu doesn't care even if the whole world collapses; he just wants to crush Iran and rise as the hegemon of the Middle East. So Iran must be destroyed as much as possible, and to do that, the United States must be induced to either fight Iran for as long as possible or wipe it out in one blow.
From Netanyahu's perspective, it appears he is planning to reverse the situation where Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz and holds the world economy hostage. He's inducing Iran to make a choice to kill its own hostage—in other words, to attack its own oil facilities.
That's why Trump was startled. If Iran attacks oil facilities, it becomes Iran's losing move, and the United States will definitely enter stagflation along with prolonged war. Fed rate cuts are completely off the table, oil prices remain elevated, and everything crashes downward. Midterm elections? It's obvious without even looking.
This is now the point where he's starting to struggle to escape. Just at the right time, Trump suggested ending the war in 4 weeks. It remains to be seen how Netanyahu will grab Trump's ankle as he tries to escape, and whether Trump will manage to get out or not.
If Trump barely manages to escape early, the world will start moving by the old rules again, but if Trump can't escape and gets dragged along, I think a bigger disaster will begin. Because he'll do anything until November, it could almost become a World War III-level situation. Perhaps declaring martial law like Yoon Suk-yeol would be better for us.
However, even though Yoon Suk-yeol destroyed much, our system kept running behind the scenes, and we showed resilience to recover quickly. I think the United States also has a system befitting a global hegemon running at its foundation. We have to place our hopes there. I hope that the American people and their system can fulfill their role of "preventing things that shouldn't happen from happening."
