Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea [475560], announced on the 31st that the company will pursue overseas expansion and aggressive mergers and acquisitions (M&A) this year.

On this day, CEO Baek stated that owner risk will gradually disappear, and YouTube activities will resume in the near future.

In his remarks at the shareholders' meeting, CEO Baek said, "The Born Korea spent a lost year last year facing numerous frivolous complaints and accusations," adding "with almost all suspicions resulting in no charges, we are finally beginning corporate activities that we could not do last year."

CEO Baek said, "This year we will focus on capturing overseas markets for global expansion," and "based on global B2B sources, we are conducting business exchanges with companies in the Americas, Southeast Asia, and Europe, and we are expecting growth in overseas sales."

He further explained, "This year we also have plans to strategically enter 1-2 competitive core brands into new overseas markets."

CEO Baek, who said he would pursue aggressive M&A, revealed that The Born Korea is reviewing various options for M&A that can create synergies with the company's business.

He said that in particular, to build a foundation for global expansion, he is looking for companies with manufacturing facilities for sauces and other products, food service companies, and foodtech companies.

CEO Baek also emphasized, "We will hold some YouTubers and organizations accountable to the end legally for their attacks and slander to ensure that damage to shareholders and franchisees is not repeated."
