Hello, I'm the captain.

I wrote a similar article on my personal blog (which is also a company blog), but I thought it would be rude to just drop the link here, so I'm writing this in the development section.

Come to think of it, every time I wrote about cooling the outdoor unit of an officetel air conditioner on Clien, I only got caught up in each post. This is the first time I've written such a long article since coming to Damoa.

I haven't been a developer step-by-step, and I've lived mostly as what people call 'liberal arts' - from platform planner in the e-commerce industry to new business planning. During the IMF crisis, my family was poor so I entered the Military Academy, but I dropped out in my sophomore year and did some manual labor before coming up to Seoul to take the college entrance exam again. I double majored in Business Administration and Journalism.

Even though I became a late bloomer in college, I worked part-time as a translator for documentaries on military subjects at a broadcasting outsourcing production company, and thanks to a good boss, I finished school somehow by riding my motorcycle to Hongdae after my classes ended at 3 pm.

At the time, we did a small project with three freelance developers who had over 10 years of experience - C language developers, DB developers, and WAS developers. I learned HTML and CSS from books and even opened a SaaS web service. I remember that the DB developer knew PHP and made a service using the HTML and CSS I designed.

After entering the e-commerce industry, I gained countless experiences from L4 switches to infrastructure, security, monitoring systems, and incident response. I learned a lot from many developers, but I still felt that the world of development was one step away. Recently, with the explosive help of AI, I was finally able to develop 'double-entry bookkeeping,' which I had wanted to create since the launch of the iPhone.

Bookkeeping was my long-cherished project. In the past, developer acquaintances gave me good advice that "development based on necessity can create good products," and this has always been a motivation for me.

Times have changed so much that I can install Docker on my Synology NAS at home and even install client monitoring solutions. Thanks to Firebase and many other backends, even someone like me who only knows JavaScript can easily understand and develop code. Development is more enjoyable than ever.

I hate advertising, so I quit Facebook and Instagram last year. - Oh, don't get me wrong. Damoa's ads are love? - So I made it a paid subscription service. There are no ads, E2EE security encrypts the bookkeeping data, and only simple Google account login is supported.

When using a bookkeeping app, managing categories was always the most annoying part for me, so I developed this part to be processed by AI using the Jemina API. I was going to add a function for bookkeeping data analysis, but instead of encrypting and processing prompts that are sent in plain text, I decided to provide a JSON download function so that users can upload files to their own AI for analysis.

If you're interested in double-entry bookkeeping or know someone who wants a clean bookkeeping app without ads, please recommend it.

To all the developers out there.

Fighting!
