
Ambassador Yoon Soon-gu discussed Korea-Indonesia energy cooperation plans and other matters with Choi Jae-kwan, President of the Korea Energy Agency, on June 11 (Thursday).
President Choi Jae-kwan explained the agri-solar ODA project being promoted in Indonesia and stated that Korea's successful community-participation solar project could become a successful model to replace diesel generators in Indonesia's island regions, and that discussions regarding overseas transfer of emission credits are needed.
Ambassador Yoon Soon-gu explained Indonesia's energy and industrial environment and noted that understanding Indonesia's unique characteristics is necessary for successful implementation of the model, and that cooperation with Korean companies and related institutions operating in Indonesia is required.
The embassy and the Korea Energy Agency agreed to continue close cooperation on energy and carbon neutrality issues going forward.
