Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly(MPR) Deputy Speaker Eddy Soeparno met with the Ambassador of Indonesia to the UAE, Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation centered on energy transition. Soeparno said that Indonesia is committed to strengthening cooperation with the UAE and implementing the gas agreement, particularly in the field of renewable energy. The UAE is involved in the development and operation of the Cirata (Cirata) floating solar power plant (PLTS) in West Java through its renewable energy company Masdar. This facility is expected to become the world's largest floating solar power plant. The UAE's investment in expanding the 192MW PLTS is seen as a concrete support for Indonesian President Prabowo's ambition to accelerate the transition to renewable energy through the 100GW solar power program.
Soeparno specifically expressed his support for bills related to oil and gas, renewable energy, and climate change response. Al Dhaheri said that this discussion was part of concrete efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
