BPJS Health is experiencing a deficit because the contributions collected from participants amounted to only Rp 118 trillion, while health benefit payments reached Rp 132 trillion. To address this issue, President Prabowo Subianto provided an injection of Rp 20 trillion to BPJS Health. Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin emphasized the importance of improving the quality of healthcare services in hospitals as a result of this funding injection. He also requested that the process of liquidating BPJS claims to hospitals be expedited and that hospitals no longer discriminate against patients who are BPJS participants. The government hopes that this funding injection will increase public satisfaction with healthcare services using BPJS Health.
