A colleague at work told me about a topic that urgently made him go back to the US.
It was RWA.
I had a vague memory of it when I was in Korea (the Korean stock market is a manipulated gambling board, so I wasn't interested), but when this three-letter abbreviation suddenly appeared,
I couldn't connect the concept.
After hearing about it from him several times and it becoming a common interest,
we had dinner together the day before the Clarity Act was expected to be voted down in the Senate.
We expected it to fail, and indeed it did.
RWA is considered one of the key funding sources for the US to win its competition with China,
and our meal ended with the conclusion that this would be a problem.
However, a few days ago + over the weekend,
I saw a 24-hour tokenization 5-year RWA similar to a regulation, and I thought,
"Wow... is this happening?"
My US colleague is flying back today.
