Hello. When I ask an AI for planning documents, work plans, or review documents, Markdown files quickly accumulate. But when it was my turn to do the final check, I needed a screen that was easier to read than an editor.
So I made Markdown Leader, a Chrome extension that reads local Markdown.
Here's the flow I use most often.
I open several Markdown documents created by AI in tabs from a folder.
Mermaid diagrams and formulas are also rendered for confirmation.
Completion status is changed directly with checkboxes, and revision comments are left as notes on the original text.
Once the review is complete, I request the AI to "reflect the checks and notes I left in this document."
Rather than a tool for directly editing the entire document, it's designed to allow people to read the results created by AI and quickly return necessary opinions. The general text except for notes and checkboxes is not touched.
Version 1.0.0 is currently available on the Chrome Web Store. It supports opening local files and folders, document tabs, searching, displaying Mermaid and formulas, saving the original checkboxes and notes. No account or separate server is used, and documents are processed within the browser. When opening directly with a file URL, you need to allow file URL access in the Chrome extension settings.
Version 1.1.0 is currently under review. It adds folder sorting, sidebar width adjustment, A4 preview and PDF saving, and a function to restore broken file and folder links. The released version and the functions under review are listed separately.
If you read a lot of Markdown created by AI, I'd like to hear your opinions on what grammar or reading flow is needed. Especially if there was anything inconvenient when reading long planning documents, implementation plans, or work checklists, please let me know so I can refer to it for future improvements.
