Broadcom Set Its Revenue Four Times Higher Two Years Out
Broadcom presented its AI semiconductor revenue targets by fiscal year. For fiscal year 2026, approximately $58 billion; 2027, approximately $115 billion; 2028, approximately $230 billion. Doubling year-over-year for two consecutive years, it quadruples in two years. For fiscal year 2028, the company set a target for earnings per share of $30 or more.
More notable than the numbers was the supply-side explanation. The company stated that volumes for 2027 and 2028 are already fully secured, and current demand exceeds the 2027 forecast.
Even if the full 30 gigawatt-scale demand cannot be fully built due to site, power, and data center constraints, the company said it has a high level of confidence that it can ship $350 billion worth over the next two years. It also noted that for every 1 gigawatt built by OpenAI or Anthropic, it can support approximately $3 billion in annual revenue.
Korea Electric Power Asked Samsung and SK Hynix to Pay 25 Trillion Won in Advance

Samsung Electronics would pay 20 trillion won and SK Hynix would pay 5 trillion won.
The plan is to use future electricity payments now to invest in building power grids for semiconductor clusters in Yongin and Honam. KEPCO, with debt exceeding 210 trillion won, would secure investment funds without increasing bond issuance, while the two companies would receive timely power supply to their new plants and earn interest higher than government bonds.
The U.S. Said It Will Reduce Tariffs for Domestic Production
U.S. Commerce Secretary Raimondo announced a policy to reduce tariff burden for companies producing within the United States. She stated that selective tariffs would be implemented by product, and that semiconductor tariff measures are currently under review. On the same day, statements were made again that construction of U.S. factories by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix is essential.

Alteogen signed an exclusive option and license agreement with Novartis for hyaluronidase products. If all options are exercised and development and commercialization conditions are met, the total value would be up to $322.3 million, or approximately 4.4165 trillion won. After commercialization, the company will receive royalties linked to net product sales.
Novartis secured the option rights to develop and commercialize multiple biopharmaceuticals in subcutaneous injection form. Which products will be applied to has not been disclosed.

Oil prices that had surged due to the day before's strike on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz returned to normal levels. West Texas Crude fell to $90.7 per barrel, with no major new developments between the U.S. and Iran. Secretary of Energy Wright said that strategic petroleum reserves could be filled with Venezuelan oil, and reports also indicated that Saudi Arabia is taking protective measures with neighboring countries for safe navigation in the Red Sea.
Interest rates also eased. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield, which had exceeded 4.8% at one point, fell to the 4.7% range. This was influenced by New York Federal Reserve President John Williams noting that while Middle East geopolitics raise inflation pressures, recent indicators show positive signals for inflation.
U.S. private employment in August increased by 38,000, falling short of the 47,000 expected. This was the slowest pace since January. Base wages rose 3.2% from a year ago.
Despite weak employment, the New York stock market rebounded after four days. The halt in rising interest rates was seen as a relief, and Dell rose 15.8% following earnings, boosting expectations for AI server demand.
