September 2, 2026 (Sat), a graduation ceremony for trainees of the Korea-Indonesia Shipbuilding Cooperation Center was held in Serang, Indonesia. On this day, about 60 Indonesian shipbuilding personnel who completed technical education such as welding in the shipbuilding field, as well as Korean language and cultural education, participated in the graduation ceremony. They are scheduled to work at Korean shipyards in the future.


Ambassador Yoon Soon-gu emphasized in his congratulatory speech that shipbuilding and marine industries are very important industries in Indonesia, which has over 17,000 islands and vast oceans. He particularly pointed out that the shipbuilding industry has a significant effect on job creation as well as promoting the development of related industries, making it an essential industry for Indonesia to foster manufacturing and strengthen industrial competitiveness.


Ambassador Yoon also emphasized that the trainees who will work at Korean shipyards in the future are symbols of Korea-Indonesia shipbuilding cooperation and the future of Indonesian shipbuilding. He urged them to work healthily and safely in Korea and play a role as a bridge for shipbuilding cooperation between the two countries.
