I recently wrote a post about how the Immigration Office has shed its bureaucratic skin and improved its service, and I'm currently going through the process of renewing my 6th year Investor Visa (Kitas) using the Briging program. It's such a great program that many people seem to be unaware of it, so I'm sharing this information.
Purpose of the Bridging Program
Preventing Residence Gaps During Status Changes or Extensions
If you apply for a new visa before your existing visa (such as KITAS) expires, it guarantees legal residency in Indonesia during the processing period.
Renewing Residence Status Without Leaving the Country
In the past, visa extensions required leaving the country, but the Bridging program allows you to complete the process without departing Indonesia.
Safety Net for Administrative Processing Delays
It prevents you from becoming illegally resident in case of delays in approving your new visa.
Supporting the Continuity of Residence for Foreigners such as Investors and Professionals
It smoothly supports visa conversions and extensions for Investor KITAS or other professional personnel, ensuring the continuity of economic activities.
In summary, the Bridging program is a system that provides continuity of residence and legal stability during the visa conversion or extension process.
Application➡️ Online application is possible; they will guide you if you bring your laptop to the Immigration Office.
Cost: Approximately 1 million rupiah per person
It's great for renewing visas within the same company (sponsor). I'm not sure about the specifics, but they say that even if the sponsor changes, you can still obtain a new visa through Bridging. I recommend visiting the Immigration Office for consultation.
My family and I consulted with them regarding visa renewal through Bridging. I will write a detailed review about the Bridging application process after applying.
