It reminds me of June, when we swept the three-game home series against SSG — in the first game we left Hong Chang-ki out of the starting lineup, won big, and grabbed the mood of the series..
Unlike back then, the pattern of the bullpen throwing it away even when the starter pitches well just never changes..
The opposing hitters are lefties, so why not use Lee Woo-chan and instead send in right-handers one after another, raising the odds of getting hit?
His fastball only sits around 140, yet Park Dong-won keeps calling for high fastballs to lure the hitters — what kind of catcher is that?
(These days hitters lay off even 150) Then, once he falls behind in the count, he calls for a forkball and lets it get past him..ㅠ (3 passed balls in 4 games)
Opposing hitters must find it so comfortable when Park Dong-won is behind the plate..they only have to sit on the fastball..every ball that gets hit is a fastball, and the breaking balls are only there to lure or to waste, so there is no need to swing the bat..ㅎㅎ
If you look at Chang-ki's contact quality and Moon Bo-gyeong swinging through absurd pitches, you can tell what shape those two are in — yet in the dugout they are smiling and enjoying the game in a bright mood, while the young players with better bats keep the dugout with dark, serious faces. The team atmosphere is a real mess..
I want to tell manager Yeom to work hard on reviving Bo-gyeong again today..though I wonder whether he even has the method or the ability to do it..
Maybe he is just diligently chanting that Bo-gyeong has to come around, so it doesn't get exposed..ㅎㅎ
Even if we make it to the postseason, I think going in as a wild card would keep the embarrassment to a minimum..I don't mind missing out, but I worry about the young players who keep getting relatively few chances..
PS..no matter how much the game was already thrown away, let's not put Bae Jae-jun on the mound. The fielders get worn out and it is embarrassing.
The players worked hard, and as always, go LG Twins!!..ㅠ
