Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Arif Havas Oegroseno met on July 30th with Panamanian Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Arturo Hoyos, Indonesian Ambassador to Panama Bernardo Brea Rodriguez, and Director General for Asia Pacific and Oceania ·Carlos Karika. They discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and investment. Both sides recalled the history of their respective foreign policies and the role of the Non-Aligned Movement, exchanging views on the diplomatic support provided by the Non-Aligned Movement during Panama's sovereignty recovery process.
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited Panamanian businesspeople to participate in INA-LAC 2026. Hoyos also invited Indonesian businesspeople to the 3rd Latin America and Caribbean International Economic Forum, scheduled for next year. Both sides plan to use these events to expand networks between businesses in both countries and explore new business and investment opportunities.
Indonesia intends to utilize this exchange as an opportunity to expand its business into Central and South America, the Caribbean, and the Americas.
