I'm a very ordinary shabang rider who used to use 10-33/10-28 on the existing slam 48-35 (tt is 50 with 10-33)
For those of you who are considering building singles on the road, I'd like to help.
I was hooked after seeing that s5 of Banart was single, and I tried changing the drivetrain to a single.
I customized it with a slam xplr 10-46 on a 50.
When I installed it, I compared the gear ratios beforehand, and most of them overlapped?
10-33 standard 10-11-12-13/15-17-18-21-24-28
Most of them are configured the same.
Of course, there is a disadvantage that you skip 14 on a slight downhill and go straight to 13, but there weren't many environments where I would use it.
Especially, as I went up to 32-38-46, most of the range used in the inner was covered.
I was able to get almost the same gear ratio as putting a 33 sprocket on a 35 chainring and a 46 on a 50.
It's comfortable because there is no stress from chain derailment or sluggishness when going up from inner to outer.
