I suddenly had a funny thought while reading a post about short selling.
Stock criminals have to pay fines and restitution, right?
It's not worth complaining that the fine and restitution are enough to make them ashamed.
What if we set aside the restitution separately
and buy up stocks that were manipulated with this money, then burn them?
What benefit would it bring to the shareholders who were defrauded by taking the restitution punitively?
There will probably be a lot of counterarguments. What about the shareholders who sold at a loss... something like that.. haha
Or, we could buy an index and burn it to help the stock market haha
Please just understand that I said it for fun.
Smart people will figure out the complicated things, so I'll just throw it out there and see what happens lol
