Klarna's new lease program offers eligible customers the opportunity to use an iPhone starting at $17.99 per month and an Apple Watch starting at $11.99 per month, with a variety of monthly payment options.

Cupertino, California – Apple today announced Apple Upgrade, a new product lease program for iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, and iPad. The program is offered through Klarna and is available at the Apple Store online, the Apple Store app, and Apple Store retail locations in the United States. 1 With Apple Upgrade, customers can purchase their desired Apple products more easily with a lease plan that suits them.

Karen Rasmussen, Vice President of Online Apple Store, said: "Apple puts its customers at the center of everything it does." "We are very excited to be able to offer our online and offline store customers a more flexible payment method through Apple Upgrade," she added.

Apple Upgrade offers 12-month and 24-month lease options for iPhone and Apple Watch, and 24-month and 36-month lease options for Mac and iPad. Lease prices start at $17.99 per month for iPhone, $11.99 per month for Apple Watch, $24.99 per month for Mac, and $11.99 per month for iPad. ^ Customers who are new to Apple Upgrade can further reduce their monthly lease payments by returning their current device through Apple Trade In. Additionally, customers who pay their lease payments with Apple Card can earn 3% Daily Cash.2

Upgrading has never been easier.

With Apple Upgrade, customers can enjoy a smooth and personalized shopping experience both online and in stores. Apple and Klarna have created a simple enrollment process that provides detailed information about lease options before customers sign up.

After selecting their desired lease option, customers can apply online or in store and receive quick approval from Klarna within minutes.3 All applicants undergo a soft credit check that does not affect their credit score. Once approved, customers can complete the transaction as usual. In-store customers can use their new device immediately, while online customers can choose between delivery or in-store pickup. Regardless of whether they purchase online or in store, all customers can have their new product set up and ready to use through Apple's personalized setup service, and they can ask any questions they may have. They can also participate in free Today at Apple educational sessions to learn how to use their device or explore its features more deeply.

At the end of the lease term, customers can choose to upgrade to the latest generation device, purchase it outright, or return the device and terminate the program. Customers can view all lease information, including billing schedule and remaining payment amount, through the Klarna app. Adding an AppleCare subscription provides additional protection for your product and makes upgrading to a new device even easier when you're ready to return your current one.

With the launch of Apple Upgrade, Apple is discontinuing its iPhone Upgrade Program and iPhone Installments program in the United States. Customers currently enrolled in the iPhone Upgrade Program who meet the eligibility requirements can lease a new device through Apple Upgrade, purchase it with Apple Card installments, purchase it outright, or choose a carrier installment program.
