KBS1 received the highest score among central terrestrial broadcasters in the broadcast evaluation reflected in the re-licensing and re-approval review. MBN ranked first in general programming channels.
The Korea Communications Commission announced on the 22nd that it had deliberated and approved the '2024 Broadcast Evaluation Results' for 371 broadcasting stations operated by 153 broadcasters at the '24th General Meeting of 2026'.
The broadcast evaluation was conducted based on the Broadcasting Act, targeting the 2024 broadcast performance of terrestrial TV·radio·DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), general cable broadcasting business operators (SO), satellite broadcasting business operators, and general programming·news specialty·home shopping broadcasting channel users (PP) who receive re-licensing and re-approval. Programs, scheduling, and operation areas were comprehensively evaluated according to the characteristics of each medium.
KBS1 received the highest score of 643 points out of a possible 700 points in central terrestrial TV. This was followed by MBC with 612 points, SBS with 589 points, and KBS2 with 574 points. Overall, scores increased compared to the previous year, with variations in scores due to program award records and compliance with relevant laws.
