Ambassador Yoon Soon-gu visited the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) on July 20th (Thursday), and met with Shinta W. Kamdani, Chairman of APINDO, and other key officials. They exchanged views on the current status of economic cooperation between Korea and Indonesia and ways to enhance it in the future.
Ambassador Yoon introduced that the relationship between the two countries was upgraded to a Special Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (SCSP) at the Korea-Indonesia Summit held in Seoul on April 1st. He also explained the progress of bilateral relations in various fields such as defense, economy, industry, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. In particular, Ambassador Yoon introduced promising future economic cooperation areas between the two countries, such as artificial intelligence (AI), shipbuilding, and nuclear power generation, and presented the latest discussion trends.
Ambassador Yoon and Chairman Shinta agreed that creating a favorable business environment through regulations and policies is crucial for further expanding economic cooperation between the two countries in trade and investment. They also agreed to strengthen necessary cooperation between the embassy and APINDO in the future.
