I suffered from the death of UPS in my home network during overseas travel.
I went on a summer vacation trip abroad last week.
During the trip, I backed up photos to Synology NAS through the shared router at home,
connected VPN, and set up remote control so that I could connect to the PC at home in case of emergency.
Really strange timing, but during my trip, the UPS suddenly died (...)
It's just a battery replacement timing that comes every few years. Unfortunately.
But how come the UPS dies right at the time when I leave home for several days? It was ridiculous.
Of course, I called my family and asked them to unplug the UPS and connect it directly to the outlet,
so I managed to revive it and keep access from outside.
Regardless of its characteristic of protecting equipment in case of power failure...
It died on its own and made this mess.
When I asked Jemina, she said to install an automatic transfer switch (ATS) ...
But from the perspective of a home server or someone who runs it, it feels like putting the cart before the horse.
(There is no outlet type for installation, and separate wiring would be required.)
Anyway.. For now, I'm keeping it alive by direct connection..
I'm going to order a battery. ㅠ ㅠ
Hmm.. I think it might be better to just replace the battery every 3 years, whether it dies or not...
