Hello?
This is a very short review of Y1Rs. I'll be riding all week, so I'll come back with a longer review after the Lunar New Year. My height is 173cm, inseam is 81-82cm, weight is 61-63kg, and FTP is 243.
My previous bike was a V4rs size 455 with Dura Ace and ENVE Pro components, weighing 7.08kg. I'm currently considering adding a few more parts, but my current Y1 is an XS with Dura Ace and ENVE transplanted from the V4.
Since the size is one smaller, I set the distance from the crank to the saddle the same as the V4 and moved the saddle forward. The ghost-like saddle sore disappeared. Even though the length was the same, the knee angle was different, so today I replaced the leg with a new one and raised the seatpost higher than before while keeping the saddle position forward.
I haven't ridden other bikes, so I don't know for sure, but the ride quality was better compared to the V4. Although the V4 is often said to be a stiff bike, I didn't find it uncomfortable to ride. Nevertheless, the Y1 felt more stable with its fork. It didn't bounce around unless there were large bumps like speed bumps and rode smoothly. Although the riding distance isn't long yet, the improved ride quality on the riverside path (about 20km) was a huge advantage for sustained riding. I could apply power well and maintain it easily. The dancing felt relatively sluggish, but it also felt stable, so there was no sense of rejection. Cornering took some getting used to.
I was going to write a review while riding three laps around Namsan Mountain with the same power as usual, but I couldn't ride today due to rain. Instead, I installed a new leg today and checked out my bike : )
+ A downside is that sand gets in if you don't install a rubber cover on the seatpost. Since there are third-party seatposts like Varium that can be installed, it would be good if they covered that part.
+ Thanks to BA, I also liked how smoothly I could ride over the red dot paint near Namsan Park and its surroundings.
