The combination of carbon wheelset + cork pads made me realize I could literally die during wet weather riding.... lol
Just in case, I packed a rain jacket and wore it, but those who didn't wear one came down Guryongnyeong and took the bus instead.
I somehow managed to get around to Medio...
Ah... the 20km Guryongnyeong downhill.
Coming down while drying the water-logged cork pads through braking... I remember my hands getting stiff later and I almost fell off the bike.
These days, disc brakes have become common so I don't think that happens much anymore...
It's true that wet weather riding on long-distance courses like Seorak has way too many hazards.
When I returned and washed the bike, I noticed the rear wheel rim was heavily scratched.
It's presumed that stone dust flying from the front wheel got embedded in the cork pads, causing that.
Hearing that Seorak Granfond's schedule changed suddenly made me think of old memories, so I jotted this down ;;
