Samsung is developing an AI chip called Gaia for personal computers (PCs). The chip is designed as a companion processor that focuses on accelerating AI processing directly on devices. Gaia will be able to handle AI tasks such as real-time translation and AI-based image generation. Mass production of Gaia is expected to begin in 2027, with the first commercial devices launching at the end of 2027 or early 2028. The development of Gaia marks Samsung's return to the PC chip market after an absence of more than a decade.
