I trusted what they said and took it, but I was immediately stopped by the crew and scolded… Eventually, I apologized and explained everything, and they loaded it right before departure, but since it seems like wrong information, I'm leaving this.
Even if you disassemble the wheels and put them in a carrying bag, as you know, the volume is considerable.
To load it into the luggage compartment of SRT or KTX, you have to change the existing 3-tier luggage compartment to 1 tier + 2 tiers by operating the lever, and then put the bicycle and wheels in the 2nd tier loading space. However, this inevitably causes inconvenience because other passengers cannot load their carriers and bags into the luggage compartment.
It is physically possible to load it like this, but there is no regulation that says "you can load it if you disassemble the wheels."
Therefore, it is entirely up to the crew's discretion, and when I was refused, they said that loading bicycles during rush hour was impossible.
They usually said that rush hour is commuting time, which is roughly before 10 am in the morning and after 8 pm in the evening.
Since there are always many passengers on weekends and holidays, it seems to be more difficult to load them.
I bought a ticket with my own money, but I couldn't load it comfortably and had a disagreement with the crew twice already, so I'm going to try using the bus from now on.
Looking at the atmosphere these days, it seems that buses are not easy either, but I think it will be better than KTX SRT…
