Heated cables have been gradually added to the Bukak Skyway downhill, and this winter quite a lot have been installed in the direction of Seongbuk/Sungshin Women's University.
I generally welcome the installation of heated cables after slipping on thin ice before, but even on nice weather days, I carefully come down because I'm worried that thin road tires might get caught on the heated cables and lose traction. In particular, the diagonal drainage grooves installed quite frequently in between are quite thick, and unfortunately they are installed in the direction of leaning your body when cornering, so I instinctively slow down significantly when turning corners.
Of course, I need to downhill safely, but I used to enjoy the thrill of downhilling freely before, and personally it is quite a shame.
Do experts feel the same way? Or am I being too cautious?
Everyone, please ride safely this season!
