Is leverage really that much of a social evil?

Of course, single-stock leverage may cause some antics, but isn't the fundamental structure of our country's index volatility rooted in being a single semiconductor sector?

Looking at the recent gap between Nasdaq and the S&P 500, and the SOX chart, it's simply a market where semiconductors are fluctuating. And our country is a single semiconductor sector. Looking at Micron and semiconductor indices, they're synchronized with KOSPI similarly even in terms of decline rates.

As the timing overlaps, I suspect single leverage is being unfairly blamed—like a pear falling when the crow flies. Moreover, who is really to blame for unprepared stock beginners losing money to speculative leverage gambling?

If we restrict market autonomy, other problems will emerge. As for daily price limits—I'm not even sure what those are really about. When listening to YouTube and various opinions, I think "oh, that makes sense," but the more I think about it, the more it feels like they're only pointing to symptoms while ignoring the root cause.

Investment rather than speculation should come through earnings performance and corresponding shareholder returns. Wouldn't it be more important to address these issues? If big tech companies' earnings reports and guidance come out, momentum returns to semiconductor purchases, and the direction becomes clearer, the market would hit bottom and rebound. If such a situation were to occur, wouldn't the articles and videos criticizing leverage fade away?

Conversely, if semiconductor buyers' guidance isn't positive, it will fall again, but who will we blame then?

Wouldn't it be more important to develop sectors other than semiconductors to reduce volatility?

The overall atmosphere seems to have opinions converging toward leverage regulation, so I won't have anything pleasant to say, but I'll still write a few words anyway.

I had thought about not pressing submit after writing this far, but...

Please be careful, and while it would be good to make profits, I wish above all that you have a successful investment that 'doesn't lose' money.
