A pleasant ride with good weather.
This is Weather Uncle.
Today, after a really long time,
I rode out from home to Ganjeolgot and back.
It's 70km round trip from home to Ganjeolgot.
There's a lot of traffic
and I usually don't love it much because you get battered by headwind and sea breeze,
but the weather was so good today that I went for it.
Ran into some fellow riders
coming from the opposite direction here and there, first time in a while.
Imnang Beach
Matte black really does look
absolutely stunning next to matte beige.
Riding today,
exchanging nods with other riders passing by,
and sometimes a "fighting!"
it was nice greeting each other warmly and cheering each other's rides on.
The Wish Mailbox.
The "ganjeol" in Ganjeolgot doesn't actually mean "earnest wish,"
but it's the point where the sun rises earliest,
and since it happens to be named "ganjeol," it's closely tied to the idea of wishes.
You could call it the place where earnest wishes begin, maybe?
If you ask me what my earnest wish is,
it's that my granddaughter is about to be born soon,
and I just pray I'll be safely promoted to Weather Grandpa.^^
The way there was tough with the headwind,
but on the way back the wind wasn't blowing nearly as hard as on the way there,
and that's probably the same little grudge every rider feels?^^
Spring is climbing up from the south.
Welcome it warmly and joyfully,
and ride safe.
